Rock Salt Halite Mineral - Extra Large Sample
Description
Rock salt is composed of the mineral halite which is sodium chloride, or NaCl. Geologic samples of rock salt can be white, clear, blue, pink, yellow, red and purple. Rock salt is a very soft mineral that is approximately the same hardness as your fingernail. Rock salt crystals have a glassy luster, white streak and are salty to taste.
An information card with details on the mineral formation, characteristics, and uses is included. Each extra large sample is approximately 2” to 4” or larger depending on natural crystal shape.
