Description
Fluorite is a unique mineral that can be found in more colors than any other mineral including blue, red, purple, yellow, green or white. Fluorite has low to moderate hardness, white streak and a glassy luster.Fluorite often forms in hydrothermal (hot water) veins inside other rocks. Fluorite is often found with other minerals such as galena, calcite, quartz, sphalerite, and borite. Interestingly, fluorite crystals will fluoresce under ultraviolet light.
An information card with details on the mineral formation, characteristics, and uses is included. Typical samples sizes are generally 1-2 inches in length or width but can vary based on availability and natural crystal shape.
