Description
Smoky Quartz is a smoky-gray, brown, or black variety of quartz form of the mineral quartz. The mineral gets its smoky color from gamma irradiation and the presence of traces of aluminum in the crystal structure. Like other minerals in the quartz family, smoky quartz has a white streak, glassy luster, and moderate to high hardness.
An information card with details on the mineral formation, characteristics, and uses is included. Typical samples sizes are generally 1-2 inches in length or width but can vary based on availability and natural crystal shape.
